News: Victim identified in St. Petersburg crash involving alleged DUI driver

ST. PETERSBURG, FL – The man struck and killed by an alleged drunk driver in St. Petersburg has been identified by police.

This is an update to a previous story.

In a St. Petersburg Police Department news release, the victim was identified as 52-year-old David Ivan Johnson, who police said was a transient. He was walking on the west side sidewalk of Fourth Street N Monday afternoon when he was struck by a Subaru Impreza driven by 43-year-old Olga Yuryevna Davis.

Johnson was extricated from under the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. The vehicle crashed into a dentist’s office on Fourth Street N. after hitting him.

Investigators said Davis’s blood-alcohol content was above the legal limit and she was arrested on several charges, including DUI manslaughter and DUI resulting in property damage. She was held in the Pinellas County jail in lieu of $41,000 bail.
