News: Semi-trailer accident on U.S. 301 in Tampa kills driver
TAMPA, FL – The Florida Highway Patrol said the driver of a semi-trailer was killed when his truck was involved in an accident in Tampa on Sunday morning.
According to the Tampa Bay Times, the 60-year-old driver lost control of the vehicle while driving north on U.S. 301 near Martin Luther King Boulevard shortly after 8 a.m. The semi-trailer went over the median and crossed the southbound lanes before crashing into a traffic sign, the FHP said. The vehicle ended up in a ditch next to the highway.
The driver, a Holiday resident, was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital. His name was not released. No other injuries were reported.
