News: Serious injuries reported after car and motorcycle crash in Venice

VENICE, FL – Serious injuries were reported following a crash in Sarasota County Tuesday afternoon, according to WWSB.

Police responded to the area of South Tamiami Trail and Venetia Bay Boulevard in Venice, where a car and a motorcycle were involved in the accident sometime before 2 p.m.

Two people who were on the motorcycle were airlifted by medivac helicopters to Sarasota Memorial Hospital. No details were immediately released on their condition.

The roadway was shut down while the scene was being cleared, and drivers were advised to avoid the area.
