News: Man charged with leaving scene of fatal Pinellas Park motorcycle accident
PINELLAS PARK, FL – Police say the driver involved in a crash that killed a motorcyclist in Pinellas Park in December has been arrested.
According to the Tampa Bay Times, 41-year-old Michael Wayne Broughton of St. Petersburg has been charged with leaving the scene of an accident. The crash occurred December 11 in the area of 62nd Avenue N and 55th Street at about 12:30 a.m.
Investigators said Broughton was behind the wheel of a pickup truck in a collision that killed 45-year-old Jason Prine of St. Petersburg. Broughton allegedly left the scene without stopping to help. Witnesses were able to provide a description of the vehicle involved to police.
Broughton was arrested last Wednesday and was booked into the Pinellas County jail on bail of $500,000.
